Materials and Equipment Required for workshops

 

Introductory Assembly:
A mobile board or a flip chart + papers and pens
Audio Cassette/CD Player

all practical hands-on sessions run for 75-90 minutes duration, and we require
a classroom space with access to running water.

Clay work sessions:
The following to be provided by each school or community centre:

About 1 kilogram of clay per pupil/student. Natural clay (if available) or air/self hardening clay.
Coloured slips (if available)
Aprons or other protective clothing
Work space for pupils with suitable surface eg: tables
A supply of old newspapers
Some simple and basic tools eg: pencils, paint brushes, lollipop sticks, modelling tools.

Note :  we can supply natural clay at £10.00 per 25kg bag or air/self hardening
clay at £20.00 per 12.5 kg bag.

 
Textiles/African Fabric design ie Tie & Dye, Batik Making:

Plain white cotton ,cold water dyes, urea, soda ash, table salt, strings, batik wax
wax pots,stove or burner,bowls,containers,disposable gloves etc.

Note :  we can supply the required materials for Tie/Dye and Batik workshops on request ,
on average, a £40.00 budget allocation is enough for a class of around 30 pupils/students.
     
Cookery/Eating Habits:

Chopping boards, kitchen knives, bowls, colanders, saucepans & plates
access to gas or electric cooker.

Note :  we can provide a range of tropical foodstuffs/items required ,and invoice accordingly
            
                                                                 
Finally, relevant artefacts and resources are provided by Heritage Ceramics  for all workshops at no extra cost.                                                     -
