EARLY YEARS & PRIMARY SCHOOL EDUCATION

Artist-in-residence Programme for Primary school Education


We undertake up to 4 sessions within the school day

A day's residency usually starts with an introductory Assembly for the whole School or the Year Group (optional)



 

We offer the following Activities  
 1.Claywork  -(5 skill areas) -    African mask making
-    Traditional Coil-pot  techniques
-    Coil for Coil Techniques
-    Benin sculptural techniques
-    Jewellery design / techniques

 2. Storytelling 


ie; West African tales, legends &myths
 3.  Storytelling ,Dance/ Drama  
4. Rhythm Music & Dance Movements  
5. West African Cooking/ Eating Habits  
6. Textiles Tie & Dye and Batik Painting  


We have a cross-curricular approach to our work with emphasis on 'low-tech'  usage
and workshops are delivered on a flexible basis.

Our workshops involve hands on practical activities for pupils and the staff.

Clay work and Textile sessions are for a class of about 30 pupils per session.

For projects  lasting 3 days or more
We offer a  Free Inset session at schools request for
Teachers, parents & governors.

            Full-day                 -   
£250 per artist per day + travel costs
            Half-day(3 hrs)      -   
£200 per artist  + travel costs
            Hourly Rate           -   
£70 per artist  + travel costs
